We invite you to an artist talk with Danuta Haremska, currently exhibiting at SOFT gallery, in conversation with artist Anne Karin Jortveit. Both artists work with the history of materials, and there is potential for an interesting conversation about human consumption, the memory of the material and the senses, in an encounter with the artworks.
In the exhibition Reminisences, Haremska exhibits paper and jute sculptures, which reminds us of the plants they once were before they were transformed into materials. Nature and human activity are closely linked, and through the exhibition, Haremska questions whether plants have memory, and how we can become more aware of our consumption of natural resources. Haremska is concerned with the tactile and physical encounter with the work, and the three-dimensional works appear as an installation.
The talk takes place in the gallery at Rådhusgaten 20.
Simple refreshments.
A warm welcome!
