New Morning in the Old World examines a volatile decade of transition in Europe. Christian Belgaux looks at how the presence of history shadows the turbulence of the present, resulting in democratic backsliding and war. Myths, trauma, humanism, genocide, revolution, enlightenment, colonialism and democracy layers the continent’s past, and in the gap between them lies the future of Europe.

Uncertain States Scandinavia presents a selection of artists who go into dialogue with Belgaux's Europe-themed work in the Project Space: Terje Abusdal, Christian Belgaux, Bjørn Henrik Lybeck, Ingmar Björn Nolting, Amanda Iversen Orlich, Maria Di Stefano, Jon Wang and Ada Zielinska. Issue 25 of their paper: "EUROPA" will be launched at the opening, and there will be an artist talk between Belgaux and John Erik Riley, book signing and a mini-concert with Mykola (Ukraine), plus the official marking of our new gallery name and collaboration with Preus museum & the kickoff for Oslo Photobook Festival!
