For the final Jack presenterer! of the year, we will screen PETER PETERSEN (1953–2020) A MOURNING PLAY by Joen Vedel. The screening will be followed by a conversation between the filmmaker and Mike Sperlinger, curator and Professor of Theory at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO). In PETER PETERSEN (1953–2020) A MOURNING PLAY, Vedel tells the story of his father’s death through objects and images: keys, unsent postcards, ashtrays and toys. The film’s experimental form and its framing as a mourning play carry an implicit critique, not only of a world of mass-produced objects, but also of commercial cinema and its often streamlined forms.
