During Oslo Culture Night you will be able to experience otherworldly art and music in Emanuel Vigeland’s mausoleum at Slemdal.
Throughout the evening, a performative concert with Oslo14 vocal ensemble will take place in the mausoleum, accompanied by a light installation by artist Josefine Lyche. Surrounded by Vigeland’s 800 sqm wall painting, the audience will encounter "Måneskår" (Moon shard) – a new work for improvising vocal ensemble, electronics, piano, and recorder. Together with Lyche’s light art, this will create a fusion of sound, light, and space – of the present and the eternal.
Josefine Lyche’s art continues into the museum’s side room – the skylight hall was Emanuel Vigeland’s studio – with the exhibition Towards the Light. Here, unknown works from the museum’s collection are displayed alongside Lyche’s own pieces. The artist will be present.
The audience will be invited to move through the different rooms of sound and light – like wandering inside a cosmic dream.
